As long as\u00a0I can remember, I have appreciated to have been born in Finland. There are numerous privileges in being a Finnish citizen, so many that I’m not going to bother in trying to list them all, but I’m going to tell one of the most important ones in my opinion: Finnish school system.<\/p>\n
I’m also going to be honest with you, back when I was a student, I didn’t always like going to school. But looking back at it now, seriously, I’m happy to have put even the amount of effort in school that I did. I was a good student, who could’ve become a really good student, had I not fallen in love with skiing. \ud83d\ude42 Back when I graduated the Ruka Alpine College of higher education all the doors were open for me. Then I injured myself and ended up disabled, I had had a profession, which I couldn’t practice no more. I thought for a second about\u00a0the huge amount of work I had done for educating myself. I wouldn’t most likely\u00a0be ready to study myself any other job, either. Was it all for nothing?<\/p>\n
Now I’m sitting in front of my computer, typing this blogpost for you in English. A language, which I could’ve never learned without school. After the injury, I wrote a successful Finnish book of my survival story, where did I learn the Finnish language? \u2013 In school. When I think about it, my schooling is still playing an enormous role in my current life.<\/p>\n
My schooling is not ready yet, though. I even applied to college back in 2012, but after applying I got the idea of the FightBack. I did the entering exams to a school in Turku, missing the school by 3 points. Would’ve gotten in to my second option, but I was too into this FightBack. I wanted to go all in, in this first and then study, maybe later… \ud83d\ude09 I feel like I can even educate myself by reading good books a lot, too.<\/p>\n
I have a profession nowadays too, I’m a public speaker, and I rehabilitate myself. I fight back. Otherwise I’ve been trying to reduce the things I do. I’m just trying really to succeed in the two of these.<\/p>\n
